KARDINIA JUDO CLUB

Judo is a fun sport that can be used as a self-defense system. Akin to wrestling, it mainly involves throwing and pinning down an opponent, although seniors (over 16 years of age) also use strangles and arm-locks.
Judo develops self-confidence, strength, speed, stamina, agility and flexibility. As such, it is an ideal sport for cross-training. In fact judo is widely used around the world by rugby, football and soccer teams for cross training purposes.
Kardinia Judo Club is open to people of all ages, from prep to senior years. Juniors (preps to around grade 4/5) train for 40 minutes, seniors (upper primary to year 12) train for an hour and a half. Seniors can also train for 2 hours on Saturday mornings.
Kardinia Judo Club is registered with Judo Victoria Incorporated. Senior members take part in JVI competitions. In addition, the club runs two belt grading tests per year. The club also runs the KIC Cup competition twice per year.
